Ingredients

Mixed berry smoothie
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • 0.5 cup frozen blueberries
  • 0.5 cup frozen raspberries
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 banana Use 1 medium, sliced and frozen.
  • 2 tbsp honey Use honey or maple syrup to taste.
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.1 tsp sea salt Pinch of sea salt.
  • 0.25 fresh blueberries Optional topping.
  • 0.25 sliced strawberries Optional topping.
  • 0.25 cup granola Optional topping.
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds Optional topping.

Equipment

  • 1 stand mixer

Method

Blend the smoothie
  1. Add the frozen banana slices to the blender first to create a creamy base and help protect the blade.
  2. Add the frozen strawberries, frozen blueberries, and frozen raspberries on top of the banana.
  3. Pour in the unsweetened almond milk, then add the honey, vanilla extract, and sea salt.
  4. Blend on high for 45–60 seconds until completely smooth and thick.
  5. Scrape down the sides if needed, then blend again for 15 seconds.
Adjust, pour, and serve
  1. Taste and adjust sweetness by adding more honey if desired, or add a splash more almond milk if the smoothie is too thick to blend.
  2. Pour into a tall glass immediately.
  3. Top with fresh blueberries, sliced strawberries, granola, and a pinch of chia seeds if using.
  4. Serve right away with a wide straw.

Notes

For the creamiest texture, keep the banana slices frozen (at least overnight). Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator up to 24 hours; the texture will thicken, so blend again with 1–2 tablespoons almond milk before drinking. Freezing is not recommended because berries can become icy. For a lower-sugar option, swap honey for maple syrup to taste or use a sugar-free syrup that matches your preference.
